Ginkgo biloba

This tree is probably native to eastern China and has been cultivated in East Asia since ancient times, mainly around Buddhist temples (it was a sacred tree of the ancient Chinese), where trees over 1,000 years old can be found. Ginkgo was imported to Europe around 1730. It grows to a height of 30 meters and can live up to 2,000 years. Its leaves have beneficial and healing properties.
