Statue of St. John of Nepomuk

The installation of the statue of St. John of Nepomuk in this location is not mentioned in historical records. It stands in the middle of a linden tree alley in a small park, at the edge of the sidewalk. It is made of stone material – earth-colored sandstone – and stands on a concrete pillar. Due to weather and time, the surface of this monument was damaged, and the Municipal Council decided to repair it. In 2003, they decided to entrust its restoration to academic painter Pavol Bradovka and Master of Arts Jozef Kužidlo. The missing parts of the statue’s pedestal and, in particular, the column were remodelled. The statue was ceremoniously unveiled on 7 June 2004. The reconstruction was financed by the Pro Slovakia fund and the municipality.
