London plane

London plane trees are widespread in southeastern Europe, North America, and Mexico. Plane trees are massive trees with broad, spreading crowns. There is one London plane tree in the park of Betliar, but it is surrounded by a chestnut tree, a blue spruce, and a continuous forest on two sides. Under such conditions, it is not surprising that the plane tree lags behind in growth and its crown does not resemble that of other plane trees at all.
