Common yew

Yews are among our darkest coniferous trees. All parts of the fruit except the pulp are poisonous. They grow even in dark places and are undemanding in terms of soil.
Yew is a European tree, popularly grown in parks and gardens, and is suitable not only for natural parks but also for architectural parks, as it tolerates pruning well and can be shaped.
In our park, on the road to Hermes’ Well, there are nine yews, said to be very old. Their exact age is difficult to determine because after 200 to 250 years, their branches begin to grow into a single thicker trunk. Although the thickness of the trunks varies, all nine yews were planted at the same time and we estimate that they are over 300 years old.
