Najcennejšou sakrálnou stavbou na území mesta je Kostol sv. Bartolomeja.Bol postavený na mieste bývalého dreveného kostola v rokoch 1734–35 a zasvätený apoštolovi, ktorý bol umučený stiahnutím z kože.Architektúra kostola je v barokovom stavebnom slohu, čo je zvýraznené najmä na jeho hlavnom oltári a kazateľnici z roku 1762. Oltárny obraz patróna kostola, dielo známeho maliara Jozefa Božetecha Klemensa, pochádza zo 60. rokov 19. storočia.Kostol je dominantou mesta a jeho charakteristickým orientačným bodom. Je uceleným urbanistickým súborom s hodnotou historického dokumentu prezentujúceho niekoľko vývojových etáp, včítane preskúmaných i nepreskúmaných archeologických nálezov, nachádzajúcich sa pod hmotou kostola a v jeho okolí.

The Church of St. Bartholomew represents the most precious sacral building in the local urban area. Being sacrificed to the apostle martyred by skinning, the church was built on the place of the former wooden church between the years 1734–35. The architecture of the church is a sample of the baroque style particularly notable due to the main altar and the pulpit from 1762. The altar painting of the church patron by the well known painter Jozef Božetech Klemens dates back to the 60s of the 19th century. The church being a dominating feature of the town represents its typical orientation point. The church stands for a coherent urbanistic item bearing the value of a historical document presenting several stages of development including both, the exploited and the unexploited archaeological findings placed directly under the church building and within its surroundings.
