Pomník M. R. Štefánika sa nachádza na rohu Opletalovej a Janšákovej ulice pri železničnej stanici pred „Kolóniou“. Slávnostne bol odhalený roku 1928 pri príležitosti 10. výročia vzniku ČSR. Za socializmu sochu strhli a údajne ju utopili v rieke Morave pod Skalou. Dnešná socha má preto pôvodný len podstavec.
The monument is to be found on the corner of Opletalova and Janšákova Streets, close to the railroad station, just before the “Kolónia“. The unveiling ceremony of the monument was held in 1928 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of formation of the Czechoslovak Republic. The statue of who was probably the most significant personality of the modern Slovak history was torn down and allegedly thrown in the Morava River during the socialism period. Therefore, only the pedestal of the present-day statue is authentic.
Das Denkmal befindet sich an der Ecke der Straßen Opletalova und Janšákova bei der Bahnstation vor der „Kolonie“. 1928 wurde es anlässlich des 10-jährigen Gedenktags der Entstehung der Tschechoslowakischen Republik feierlich enthüllt. In der Zeit des Sozialismus wurde die Bildsäule abgerissen und angeblich in dem Fluss March unter dem Felsen im Wasser versenkt. Von der heutigen Bildsäule ist deswegen nur noch der Denkmalsockel original.
